In a medium mixing bowl, combine egg, corn, 1/2 of the crushed crackers, the whipping cream, and pepper. Pour into a buttered 1-quart casserole.
In a small bowl, combine the remaining cracker crumbs and butter. Sprinkle evenly over the corn mixture.
Bake in a 325 degree F. oven about 45 minutes or until bubbly around edges. Makes 4 side-dish servings.
