In a large saucepan, cook ground beef and onion until beef is brown and onion is tender. Drain off fat.
Stir water, carrots, celery, consomme or broth, tomato, seasoned salt, and bay leaf into meat mixture. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes or until carrots are tender. Remove and discard bay leaf before serving. Makes 3 or 4 servings.
