This basic cucumber and tomato tossed side salad gets its flavor from the rich and creamy homemade dressing.


  • 5 cups torn mixed salad greens
  • 2 medium tomatoes, sliced into wedges
  • 1/2 cup thinly sliced cucumber
  • House Dressing (recipe follows)
  • 1/2 cup purchased seasoned croutons


  1. In a large salad bowl, place the salad greens, tomatoes and cucumber.
  2. Stir the dressing well; pour dressing over the salad mixture. Toss lightly. Sprinkle with croutons; toss to mix. Makes 4 servings.

House Dressing


  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup creamy-garlic salad dressing
  • 1/2 cup dairy sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground white pepper
  • 1 - 2 tablespoons milk (optional)


  1. In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, creamy-garlic salad dressing, dairy sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, salt, garlic powder and ground white pepper. Cover; store in refrigerator for up to 1 week. If necessary, stir in 1 to 2 tablespoons milk for the consistency you like.
