  • In a bowl, toss apple slices with the lime or lemon juice.

  • Divide the leaf lettuce among 6 salad plates. Arrange the apple and honeydew slices on the lettuce; place the grapes in clusters next to the melon and apple arrangements. Spoon Creamy Honey-Lime Salad Dressing on top. Sprinkle with pistachios or almonds, if you like. Makes 6 side-dish servings.

Waldorf-Style Green Fruit Salad:

Prepare as above, except cut unpeeled apples into bite-size pieces; place in a mixing bowl and toss with lime juice or lemon juice. Add the melon cut into bite-size pieces, the grapes and, if you like, the pistachios or almonds. Fold in the salad dressing. Serve on lettuce leaves. Makes 8 side-dish servings.

Tips

Prepare the salad dressing as directed. Cover and store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

If you can't find any melon in your grocery store during the winter, you can just substitute another fresh fruit.
