  • To the skillet, add cabbage wedges, onion, water, sugar, garlic, and caraway seed. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and cook over medium-low heat for 10 minutes.

  • Add Polish kielbasa to skillet. Cover and cook for 5 to 10 minutes more or until cabbage is tender and sausage is heated through. Crumble bacon and sprinkle over the cabbage mixture. Makes 4 to 6 servings.

To Use Your Microwave:

In a microwave-safe, 3-quart casserole or 8x8x2-inch baking dish, micro-cook bacon, covered, on 100 percent power (high) for 6 to 8 minutes or until done. Remove and drain on paper towels. Reserve 2 tablespoons of the bacon drippings in the casserole. To the casserole, add cabbage, onion, water, sugar, garlic, and caraway seed. Cover and cook on high about 10 minutes or until the cabbage is almost tender, rearranging cabbage once. Add Polish kielbasa and cook for 5 to 8 minutes more or until cabbage is tender and sausage is heated through. Serve as above.
