• In a medium mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, 1/3 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla and the salt. Beat with an electric mixer till mixture is smooth. Add the 1 egg and beat on low speed till mixture is combined.

  • Spread mixture over bottom of the unbaked pie shell. Sprinkle pecans evenly over cream-cheese mixture.

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 eggs, corn syrup, 1/4 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Carefully pour over pecans in pie shell.

  • Bake in a 375 degree oven for 40 to 45 minutes or till puffed and center appears nearly set when you shake it.

  • Cool completely on a wire rack. Store in refrigerator. Makes 8 servings.
