  • Arrange the dough-wrapped meat, seam sides down, in a greased 13x9x2-inch baking pan or 13x9x2-inch (3-quart rectangular) baking dish. Cover and let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled (30 to 45 minutes).

  • Bake in a 350 degree F oven about 35 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and the meat inside is done (160 degree F). Serve warm. Makes 12 meat-filled turnovers.

To reheat baked, chilled Worstebroodjes, cover loosely with foil and bake in a 350 degree F oven for 10 to 15 minutes or until heated through. Or place on a microwave-safe plate and microwave at 50 percent power (medium) for 1-1/4 to 1-3/4 minutes for one piece.
