Midwest Living's Editorial Guidelines Published on August 30, 2011 Rate PRINT Share Prep Time: 25 mins Bake Time: 30 mins Stand Time: 10 mins Total Time: 1 hr 5 mins Servings: 10 Jump to Nutrition Facts Ingredients 1 ½ pounds ground beef 1 15 ounce can tomato sauce 1 cup chopped onion 1 cup chopped green sweet pepper ½ cup water 1 1.5 ounce package dry spaghetti sauce mix 1 teaspoon dried oregano, crushed 1 clove garlic, minced Several dashes bottled hot pepper sauce 1 cup milk ¼ cup butter, melted 1 tablespoon cooking oil 2 eggs 1 cup all-purpose flour 8 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese (2 cups) ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese Directions In a 12-inch skillet, cook ground beef until brown. Drain off the fat. Stir in tomato sauce, onion, green pepper, water, spaghetti sauce mix, oregano, garlic, and hot pepper sauce. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, beat milk, eggs, butter, and cooking oil with an electric mixer on medium speed for 1 minute. Add the flour and beat for 2 minutes more. Turn meat mixture into a 13x9x2-inch baking pan; sprinkle with the mozzarella. Top with the flour mixture. Sprinkle with the Parmesan cheese. Bake in a 400 degree F oven about 30 minutes or until puffed and golden. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving. Makes 10 servings.
