In a large skillet, cook meat and onion, half at a time, in hot cooking oil until meat is browned. Drain off fat. Return all meat and onion to skillet.
Stir in tomato sauce, water, salt, paprika, pepper, and bay leaf. Bring to boiling; reduce the heat. Cover and simmer for 1-1/2 to 2 hours or until the meat is tender. Remove and discard bay leaf. Skim off fat. Spoon meat over noodles. Makes 4 servings.
