In a mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients. Cover and refrigerate.
To use for marinating poultry or meat before grilling, place chicken, steaks, meat cubes, or a roast in a plastic bag set into a deep bowl or shallow dish.
Pour enough of the marinade into the bag to half-cover the meat. Seal bag and turn to coat the meat well. Marinate in the refrigerator for 6 to 12 hours, turning the bag occasionally.
Remove meat from bag, and grill until poultry or meat is done. Halfway through cooking, brush with used marinade, if you like. Discard remaining used marinade. Makes about 4-3/4 cups marinade.
Prepare the marinade as directed. Cover and refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.
