For the rub:

  • Sprinkle rub generously on beef, pork, or chicken (2 to 3 teaspoons per 1/2 pound of meat). Cook the meat as you like. Store the mixture in a screw-top jar or sealed plastic bag. Makes a scant 2/3 cup of rub.
