Cut the loaf of Vienna bread into 1-inch cubes. Spread the bread cubes in a shallow baking pan, cover loosely and let dry overnight.
In a medium bowl, beat together the eggs, milk, the 1-1/2 cups granulated sugar, the cream, and vanilla.
In a very large bowl, combine the Vienna bread cubes and raisins. Pour the milk mixture over the bread cubes. Stir until the bread is soaked with the milk mixture.
Turn mixture into a well-buttered 13x9x2-inch baking pan or dish. Cover the pan or dish with foil. Bake in a 325 degree F oven about 1 hour or until pudding is set.
Prepare the Caramel Sauce.
Top warm or cold bread pudding with warm sauce. Make 12 servings.
