  • In a large mixer bowl, beat together butter and cream cheese. Stir in sugar, almond extract, and vanilla.

  • Add flour gradually, beating after each addition until well mixed. Cover and refrigerate the dough for 30 minutes (until easier to work with, but not too chilled).

  • Place dough in cookie press and press onto ungreased cookie sheets. Sprinkle with almonds or sugar. Bake in a 375 degree F oven for 8 to 10 minutes or until edges are firm, but not brown. Cool cookies on wire rack. Makes about 60 cookies.

Cool cookies completely. In a freezer container, arrange cookies in a single layer; cover with a sheet of waxed paper. Repeat layers, leaving enough air space to close container easily. Freeze up to 1 month.
