Ground almonds and the faintest whisper of cardamom give a Scandinavian twist to these moist, ultra-rich brownies.
Place nuts on a shallow baking pan. Bake in a 350° oven for 5 to 10 minutes, stirring once or twice, until aromatic. Cool. In a blender or food processor, grind the nuts using several on/off pulses, being careful not to overprocess them.
