Instructions Checklist
  • Measure 1/4 cup of the cream cheese; set aside. For orange butter: In a small mixing bowl, beat remaining cream cheese and butter with a rotary or electric mixer until well combined. To assemble:
  • Spread the reserved cream cheese on one side of each of 4 slices of the bread. Spread orange marmalade on the other 4 slices. Press together spread sides of the slices to make 4 sandwiches (At this point, you can wrap the sandwiches and chill them overnight.)

  • In a shallow dish, beat egg until frothy. Beat in milk, vanilla, and cinnamon. Dip sandwiches into mixture.

  • On a heated griddle or in a large skillet, cook sandwiches in hot butter over medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Add more butter, if needed.

  • To serve, cut each sandwich in half. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve with orange butter. Garnish with strawberries, orange peel curls and kale, if you like.
