Fruit and Nut Maple Granola
In a large mixing bowl, toss together the rolled oats, coconut, nuts, dried cherries or berries, whole-bran cereal, and sesame seed. Stir together the cooking oil, maple syrup, and salt.Advertisement
Drizzle the maple mixture over oat mixture and toss to coat. Spread the granola mixture in an even layer in a greased 15x10x1-inch baking pan.
Bake the granola mixture in a 325 degree F oven for about 30 to 35 minutes or until the mixture is lightly browned, stirring gently after 20 minutes.
Remove the granola from the oven and immediately turn out onto a large piece of foil. Let the granola stand at room temperature to cool. Makes about 9 cups (18 servings).
Prepare granola as directed. Store the mixture in tightly covered jars or plastic bags at room temperature for up to 2 weeks. For longer storage, seal the granola in freezer bags; label and freeze.
