How To: Create a Soft, Plum Eye Look for Winter
Achieve a beautiful soft, plum eye with products from Sigma Beauty and these easy application techniques.
A soft, plum-color palette gives eyes a warm, rich look for wintertime. It's easy to achieve with a few products from Sigma Beauty, a Minnesota-based cosmetics company known for its high-quality synthetic brushes and gorgeous eye shadow colors. Here's how! Start with a shadow base. We're using Persuade, a peachy nude color, which blends with model Debra's skin tone. It goes on easily with the F70 Concealer brush, a small slightly tapered flat brush. Apply the shadow base all the way from the lash line to the brow. This will keep eye makeup in place and prevent creasing. Notre Dame, a taupey plum shadow, will give the eyes a soft and natural look. Apply it with the E55 Eye Shading brush, a nice general brush for all-over eye shadow application. Tap brush to remove excess eye shadow. Extend shadow from the lash line to the eyelid crease, blending upward until it fades. This gives the eye a soft wash of color that's great for a daytime look. To create a little drama for evening time, add a second shadow in a darker shade. Elysees, a deep smoky plum, blends well with the soft taupe shadow already on lids. We'll use the E45 Small Tapered Blending brush because it has a tip for more precise application. Apply the Elysees shadow to the crease and blend to make a V-shape on the outside corner of the eye. Play up the pretty plum shadow with a darker plum eyeliner called Declare. It's a creamy liner that can be applied directly to the top and lower lash lines. Starting from the outer corner of the upper eyelid, draw a thin line with short, smooth strokes. To keep it simple, add liner to just the outer third of the bottom lid, again using short, smooth strokes. Soften lines with the E65 Small Angel brush, a thin but firm brush that works well with liners. Gently blend along the top and lower lash lines. Finish with mascara on the top and bottom lashes. And in just a few minutes, we've created a soft simple look for winter with our Sigma Beauty brushes and eye makeup.
