Fawn Creek Winery

Wine just tastes better in a serene, comfortable setting surrounded by friendly folks and natural beauty. Fawn Creek Winery, tucked into a quiet pocket of maple, oak and pine about 10 minutes north of the Wisconsin Dells, is just such a spot. Susan Spath or one of her four siblings greet guests. There are no tours because the winery is relatively new and small with just 7 acres of vines, but visitors are welcome to partake in complimentary wine tasting (Fawn Creek makes a dozen varieties, all $12-$15 a bottle) and browse the retail store and a gift shop containing an assortment of wine-related items, jewelry and North Woods-theme gifts.

Fawn Creek serves a fun micro-menu to pair with the wines: artisanal cheese flights, French baguettes and quesadillas; beer and soda are also available. Nosh inside the winery or on the spacious deck facing the woods and, just beyond, the vineyard. Visitors can also wander along trails to check out the grapevines. The winery hosts live music on the deck every Saturday from Memorial to Labor Day and a variety of special events such as Beef and Blues Fest and Fall Fest.
