Midwest Living Review
With roller coasters that speed underground and outdoor waterslides so steep they’re nearly a free-fall, the on-site water and theme parks of Mt. Olympus Resort are a huge attraction for families vacationing at Wisconsin Dells.
The outdoor water park detours from the resort’s overriding Greco-Roman theme and instead goes for a Mayan vibe with statues, crumbling rocks and tropical decor. Toddlers congregate in the shallow waters; older kids gravitate toward body slides and tube slides that zigzag down from several stories above the park. A lazy river flows along one edge of the property, and an activity pool lets kids swim off excess energy. Winter thrills tend to be somewhat tamer, contained by indoor buildings and ideal for kids age 12 and under. A four-story Mousetrap-style roller coaster dominates the scene; it winds its way around tight corners and into sudden drops; other offerings include laser tag, a rock-climbing wall, arcade games, a go-kart track, a play area and small-scale rides.
Park admissions are included in the hotel rate for guests staying at Mt. Olympus Resorts; regular priced stand-alone tickets to the water park and theme park cost $39.99.
