Midwest Living Review
Wisconsin Dells’ big resorts are famous for their over-the-top entertainment options. For families staying at hotels without all the bells and whistles, Knuckleheads offers weatherproof games, activities and fun for all ages. This indoor amusement park features a Western theme in conjunction with the sprawling Buffalo Phil’s restaurant that anchors the complex. Here, families can grab a buffet lunch ($11.99 adults, $7.99 kids) or order rotisserie chicken ($22.99 for a whole bird and four sides) and grab a seat in the dining room where model trains deliver the food. Those with smaller appetites can grab quick bites from the snack bar next to the sizeable bowling alley.
Youngsters will beeline for the giant jumping pillow and the multistory play structure, where foam balls zing back and forth in old-fashioned shootouts. There are bumper cars, a spinning tornado ride and a miniature roller coaster with some surprisingly wicked turns. Older kids gravitate toward the go-karts and a 4-D movie theater where seats rumble and tip to match the on-screen action. A Sky Trail ropes course tests users’ mettle with wiggly walkways and dangling ropes.
Wristband prices range from $12.95 (jumping pillow, outdoor inflatables and play area) to $29.95 for unlimited access. Bowling costs $4.50 per person per game, and individual Fun Pass cards can be preloaded with any amount.
