Midwest Living Review
The former Burl and Boyd has been reincarnated as Alpha Beta Karma, a boutique for women who have an eye for fashion on a reasonable budget. Owner Kelli Trumble is a bit of a fashionista and creator of Wisconsin Dells' award-winning Sundara Spa. She knows just what to look for when she's buying goods for the store. Kelli's goal is to find items that fit a mindset, not an age group. Customers will find brightly patterned, übersoft jackets from Nepal; striking hats crafted out of paper (!) by a North Carolinian; eye-catching handbags (Glenda Gies Millie for $319); and, in a nod to the Dells' heritage, Minnetonka fashion boots (fringed for $98). There's also an assortment of gift items along the lines of candles and fragrance diffusers, plus some home decor pieces.
The store’s signature feature is its unique front window display, so check that out first. Alpha Beta Karma is open year-round, seven days a week for much of the year. There’s also an online store for those who can’t get to the Dells soon enough.
