Midwest Living Review
Sweet Lips Arts and Gift Gallery shares a first-floor space with Ephraim Faience Pottery, a well-known Arts and Crafts-style studio in Lake Mills, Wisconsin. Sweet Lips is markedly different from its neighbor, showcasing over 200 Wisconsin and American artists whose work will satisfy all tastes and budgets. (You can find anything from a $15 mug to a $10,000 sculpture.) An Ancora coffee shop on the premises serves espresso drinks, gelato and smoothies. The selection changes constantly, but on the day we visited, we found plenty to love: knit wool cup koozies ($3) cut from used sweaters; custom-designed inlaid wood golf putters with Asian symbols ($150-$210); glass fruit ornaments ($26); metal Thunderbird and Cadillac mailboxes ($325); ceramic sunflower and poppy bird baths ($160); and a pewter fish business card holder ($21). Given its wide variety of merchandise and pleasant coffee shop, Sweet Lips is quite popular among both locals and summer visitors. Book readings are held in the gallery, and a local knitting group meets here regularly. It's an especially good stop for Christmas and special-occasion gifts.
