Midwest Living Review
One of the last things you expect to find in tiny Elkhart Lake is a shop specializing in Scandinavian goods. But that's exactly what's inside Nordic Accents, which sits in the heart of downtown. The rather cluttered shop features everything from classic and modern Scandinavian crystal pieces to Norwegian sweaters, Dansko footwear, Danish candles and Russian (huh?) porcelain. The owner proudly notes some of the glass items she has are also sold in the Museum of Modern Art in New York. And that the Marimekko line she carries was popularized by Jackie Kennedy, who loved their clothes. (The company also sells bags, accessories and home decor items such as towels, cushions and dinnerware.) Nordic Accents' back room is filled with knitting yarn and patterns, plus some food items: Siljans knackebrod, Anna's cookies and Lars' yellow peas, among other delicacies. And, yes, you'll also find Norwegian trolls for sale.
