Midwest Living Review
If you're looking for a classic, blue-collar Milwaukee bar, this is it, except that you'll see as many Lexuses and Mercedes in the parking lot as Chevy trucks and motorcycles. The restaurant, housed in a castlelike corner former Schlitz bar, serves a variety of sandwiches, including plain burgers, cheeseburgers, mushroom and Swiss burgers, and bacon burgers. But the thing to order is the Sobelman Burger, topped with Swiss, cheddar and American cheeses; bacon; fried onions; and fried jalapenos. It's big, beautiful, drippy and utterly delicious. The restaurant is also famous for its bloody mary, which has such a massive veggie garnish that it's very nearly a salad. Sobelman's has two dining areas: a classic bar with lots of locals and sports on TV, and a very bright and pleasant dining area with lots of windows. Everything on the menu, from starters and burgers to chicken wings and fish sandwiches, falls in the $5$9 range.
