Lillies

As fair-trade stores go, Lillies is top-notch. The spacious, well decorated store on Cedarburg's main thoroughfare is filled with an intriguing assortment of beautifully crafted goods, like Hempwear and snuggly cotton hoodies made in Nepal, funky guitar-string bracelets and three-legged "good luck" pigs from Chile. You also can find a handful of commercially produced items, like water bottles and a set of Packers playing cards. Owners Jim and Karen Lillie are committed to sustainability and green living. If you take a closer look at the small sales counter, you'll see it's crafted from wooden slats that were once the body of a toboggan. The toboggan's curved front is attached to a nearby stand and now holds small merchandise. Customers often shop with their own cloth bags, and the store has partnered with Little Star English School in a remote Nepalian village to help fund the impoverished kids' education. The Lillies are quite friendly and happy to chat about their products, mission or sister store, Weeds, down the block.
