Midwest Living Review
The proprietors of this lovely Scandinavian-style inn refer to it as a "new-concept holistic bed and breakfast." Set on 66 acres among bluff and prairie, it provides a restful and relaxing retreat, whether or not you take advantage of the therapies and other services offered. Its four guest rooms are modern and comfortable in a simple, earthy way, with organic linens, plaster walls and radiant-floor heating. All have private baths and patios or balconies. Beds, on a platform rather than a box spring, may be a bit firm for some guests. Rates are $150$165, including a full, farm-fresh, organic breakfast. The owners -- a psychologist and a massage therapist -- built the inn using earth-friendly, nontoxic materials. Energy sources are renewable, meals are local and organic. Services include massage and life coaching; the inn also hosts couples retreats, writing workshops, yoga classes and other events. (Check the calendar on the website.) Mowed pathways lead through the property, rich with birds, wildflowers and a spring-fed creek.
