Midwest Living Review
Sitting on 28 wooded acres just minutes outside of town, Hayward KOA has been designed with kids in mind. The park teems with amenities, including a waterslide, heated pool, arcade, miniature golf and enough activities to keep little ones occupied for hours. A fun option for the whole family—the on-site kayak, canoe, inner tube rental and carpooling service lets guests enjoy leisurely 90-minute rides down the nearby river.
The campgrounds consist primarily of RV sites (from $43.59) but has fully equipped cabins and some tent sites. Spaces are somewhat compact, but this works in favor of campers with children looking to make new friends. During peak times, the park also puts on quite a show of social activities. A chocolate-theme weekend includes treats, games and the popular chocolate slip-and-slide. Other events include movies in the pavilion, hearty breakfasts, free s'mores on Fridays and DJ-ed dances on Saturday nights.
