Midwest Living Review
Beernsten's has been tempting Green Bay residents with homemade chocolates and sweets since 1924, when it was located across the street from its present location. The long narrow store is a trip back in time, with its striped wallpaper and a glass case running the length of it. Free samples will help you decide what to order. Our favorite: buttery toffees, both milk and dark. Also delicious were macadamia milk-chocolate turtles, dark-chocolate peanut butter cups and chocolate-covered caramels. All their candies are made on site, and the air is thick with the sweet scent of chocolate, sugar and butter. You also can find a huge Jelly Belly selection, sugar-free treats and an array of Green Bay-related gifts and goodies.
