Midwest Living Review
Good things -- great things, even -- come in small packages. This unassuming shop isn't especially large, but it's where you want to be if you're in Door County and need the best possible ingredients for your meal. Besides a selection of cheeses that includes up to 115 options (many from Wisconsin dairies, of course), you can find things at Top Shelf that aren't easy to find in the Midwest at your regular grocer's: lobster, duck, quail, ethnic sauces, caviar, seaweed, pasta and a ton of olives, just to name a few. (And we're talking some of the best brands in the world.) There's also a big selection of the best Door County products, a global selection of wines and champagnes, and just about every liquor any reasonable person would need. If you're not planning to make any meals yourself, swing in for a sandwich, some soup or a salad from the deli. (During the warm months, there's a porch outside to dine on.) And if you need to feed a bunch of people for a big to-do, Top Shelf runs a choice catering operation out of the shop. The shop is open daily, year-round, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
