Midwest Living Review
Before stepping through the door, take a moment to breathe deeply and smell the freshly roasted coffee beans. Door County Coffee & Tea roasts about 2,000 pounds a day of high-quality Arabica beans, mostly sold to online, mail-order and wholesale customers. Along with traditional roasts, flavored blends include sweet-sounding cherry crme, bananas Foster and caramel latte. Free tastings offered. Those freshly roasted beans also get brewed in the caf, which serves up baked goods and a full breakfast and lunch menu daily. Try the flaky, sweetly glazed almond batons or moist cherry-yogurt muffins. They're among the bestsellers. You can watch the roasting operation through a large viewing window or just savor the aroma. The shop sells teas, gourmet foods (including many Door County products) gift items, such as children's tea sets, and of course, coffee by the pound. Coffee-lovers will find it hard to leave without some.
