Midwest Living Review
This relatively unassuming white-trimmed taupe barn sits off Highway-42 in downtown Egg Harbor, but once inside, shoppers swiftly forget they’re in a farm structure at all. What began back in 1994 as a 750-square-foot store is now a 5,000-square-foot shopping and design studio showroom featuring exclusively American-made products for the home, including quilts, bedding, kitchen linens, dishes and furniture.
The name “Nature Works” is a little misleading; the store showcases vignette after vignette of artfully displayed housewares in rustic Americana style accented with products like Minnesota's Caldrea soaps and Root and Lafco candles (one of Oprah's favorite things). Made-in-the-USA outdoor and indoor furniture (Lloyd Flanders, Seaside Casual, Lee Industries, Old Hickory, Cody Road Workshops, Lexington, Linwood and Mackenzie Dow), and Karen Ballard table linens in bright tangerine, cherry red, china blue and lime green are worth admiring, if not buying. Shelves of Pine Cone Hill, Peacock Alley, and C&F sheets and blankets beg to be draped across beds, accented with just-right Lacefield Design throw pillows and Dash and Albert rugs.
Open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, Door County Nature Works hosts several seasonal events and activities, including a fall warehouse sale and holiday open house.
