Midwest Living Review

If you're hungry after shopping at Cedar Creek Settlement, head here for a sweet treat.

Plan strategically if you want to dine here: The place is always packed, especially at lunchtime. Tucked into one end of Cedar Creek Settlement, a three-story collection of shops, the casual eatery features about 15 wooden tables in one open room. The space could be really cute, but unfortunately the walls and ceiling are painted bright white and adorned with ho-hum quilts in pastels that don't make any kind of splash. The menu, naturally, features a wealth of crepes, both as entrees, filled with meat, seafood and veggies, and as desserts, stuffed with ice cream, mousse, berries and more. There are also some soups, salads and sandwiches, but really, if you come here, you should nosh on a crepe. Prices are good, with entree crepes for $5 to $10 and all dessert crepes less than $4. You can also order a beer and three types of wine from Cedar Creek Winery, also housed in the Settlement. Disappointingly, the entree crepes are unspectacular because of a homemade cheese sauce that tastes commercially prepared and masks all other flavors. The dessert crepes, however, are quite delectable. Lesson learned: Eat dessert here. It's cheaper and tastes much better!
