Midwest Living Review
This quaint inn features North Woods dcor, modern day amenities, and creative cuisine all under one room. The lodge holds seven rooms, each with their own distinct style mimicking a rustic play on the region. Our favorite is the Aurora Borealis room. The room boasts an 18-foot cathedral ceiling, expansive windows overlooking acres of forest, a king-sized bed on a homemade Amish style bed frame, and a doublewide jet tub that is guaranteed to pound your stresses away. Attention to small details, such as the wine glasses and full-size corkscrew, are a nice touch to this romantic getaway. In lieu of a lobby, guests can enjoy each other's company while playing a game of scrabble in front of a toasty fire in the commons area. The only downside: the rooms are not equipped with phones and spotty cell coverage at best makes it difficult to communicate with the outside world. On the other hand, isn't that the point of getting away? Rooms start at $89 per night in the winter and come with a $50 gift card to the Rookery Pub.
