Midwest Living Review
Designed by David Salmela and owned by Bayfield legend Mary Rice, Wild Rice Restaurant showcases the best in regional architecture while providing a five-star dining experience. Located on a winding road outside of Bayfield, the restaurant reflects the region's Scandinavian heritage--Salmela designed the building to reflect a modern day Fishing Village. Despite its name, Wild Rice doesn't take center stage on the menu. Instead, patrons order the grilled prosciutto-wrapped beef with mascarpone mashed potatoes--one of the restaurant's best sellers. For dessert, enjoy a specialty made by the in-house pastry chef. The experience comes with a price. Frst courses range from $9 to $18 with main courses ranging from $27 to $48--making it a stop for special occasions or for those who have money to spend on a quality experience.
