Midwest Living Review
Sure, adorable candy-ice cream shops are as common as candle shops in cute little towns across the Midwest. But we're always glad to find another one, and it seems that most of Bayfield's visitors are just as happy about the Candy Shoppe. On a summer afternoon, it seems like the majority of the people strolling the sidewalks outside Bayfield's shops are carrying a cone from the Shoppe in their hand. The Candy Shoppe's small storefront includes a little bakery by the door, with three people cranking out giant cinnamon rolls and Danishes on a trio of home-style ovens. The smell alone is worth a visit. The shelves are lined with old-fashioned jars of candy, along with baskets of the modern packaged sweets you can get at most grocery stores. The shop offers a chalkboard full of ice cream flavors, which you can get in traditional cones or giant waffles cones baked there in the shop.
