Where to eat

The Candy Shoppe Old-fashioned hand-dipped sweets fill the shelves, and a small bakery makes waffle cones for the ice cream counter. (715) 779-3668

Egg Toss Bakery Cafe Great pancakes and asparagus omelets top the offerings at the seasonal, sunny spot. (715) 779-5181;

Ethel’s at 250 The burgers are great, and the Bayfield apple pizza, topped with thinly sliced apples and diced Canadian bacon, is a must-try. Open seasonally. (715) 779-0293;
