Applefest

The Applefest, which draws more than 50,000 people annually to an otherwise quiet northern Wisconsin town, brings apple burgers, brats, cider, crisp, pie and everything between for apple lovers. The droves of people hitting downtown Bayfield can be overwhelming, but if you can handle the crowds, stick around for the Sunday parade in which 600 marchers blast out "On Wisconsin!" If the festival wears you out, take advantage of your time to enjoy spectacular fall colors and a stroll through any one of the dozen of orchards in and around town.
