The 30-room Anderson Mansion offers an attractive and fitting setting to admire artwork.
The Anderson Arts Center is like a free historic home tour and art museum rolled together. Its 30 spacious, white-walled rooms showcase a wide variety of paintings, mosaics and other artsy treasures, all of which are for sale in this 9,000-square-foot mansion. (One room was used only for arranging flowers before it became a gallery.) The center hosts six to seven exhibits a year, along with free Tuesday night jazz concerts in the summer and Saturday kids' art classes at the annex across the street. There's also a gift shop with jewelry, scarves, pottery, furniture and other handcrafted art work for sale.
