The Redlin Art Center pays tribute to artist and hometown hero Terry Redlin.

The Redlin Art Center is a massive, three-story building just off Interstate 29 on the eastern edge of Watertown. The center pays tribute to Terry Redlin, artist and hometown hero. The center claims a total of 155 original Terry Redlin oil paintings and 55 prints of his early paintings. Redlin's paintings feature idyllic scenes of rural Midwestern life: flocks of geese, farms, cabins in the woods and lakeside campsites. Each painting features a brightly illuminated backdrop, with light emanating from the setting sun or from the windows of cabins. Winter and fall are Redlin's favorite times of the year, and evening is his favorite time of day. The center also boasts an entire floor that's been recreated to resemble one of the cabins in his paintings, a retail store, and a 30-acre park with walking trails and ponds. Just north of the building is the Terry Redlin Pavilion, which is a popular spot for weddings, conventions and other gatherings. The Redlin Art Center is free and open year-round. If you're looking for more information about Watertown, note that the visitors center is also located at the art center.
