Midwest Living Review
Lunkers--as in big fish--sits on the eastern shore of Lake Kampeska. The restaurant takes full advantage of its location with an entire wall of glass windows, providing some of the most scenic views in Watertown. From the outside, the restaurant is pretty nondescript. Inside, an elegant, spacious dining room with Roman columns and white linens draws plenty of special-occasion diners. You can also dine in the more casual bar. In contrast to the brightly lit dining room, the bar has dark paneling, big-screen TVs and crowded tables, but it shares the view of Lake Kampeska. In either room, the million-dollar views are complemented by reasonably priced meals ranging from $12 to $20. The menu features a mix of steaks, seafood, prime rib and pork dishes. Keeping with the Lunkers' theme, we ordered torsk stuffed with crabmeat and found it to be one of the best fish dishes we've sampled in the Midwest. Like the old-fashioned supper clubs, Lunkers presents your choice of three salad dressings in a little caddy. The waitstaff is attentive but not overly so.
