Founded in 1857 along the rocky cascades of the Big Sioux River, Sioux Falls is South Dakota's largest city (metro population: 230,000). It's at the juncture of I-90 and I-29, which has helped it develop into a commercial powerhouse and one of the few large retail hubs on the northern Great Plains. Visitors will find parks, a zoo, a science/art complex, water fun and more to explore in and near Sioux Falls.
