Midwest Living Review
Each Thursday, Amish folk gather in Kidron for Ohio's oldest livestock auction. The Kidron Auction barns have not been sanitized or spiffed up for tourists. The grounds smell of manure, and the barns are not pretty, but that's what makes this an authentic experience. The auction starts in the morning with straw and hay, and by mid afternoon, Amish and English (non-Amish) are rubbing shoulders during lively bidding on cattle, hogs and sheep. Outside, the parking lot is packed with trailers, wagons, buggies and vendors selling flea market goods.
