Midwest Living Review
This is the second Goumas candy store in Granville, started by brothers of the original Goumas Candyland family who left the family business after a feud and started their own candy shop -- right next door! Occupying the front room of an old house just south of Granville's downtown shopping district, Goumas Confections offers much the same selection of delicious candies as their sibling next door. The difference is the atmosphere; this store is a bit plainer, a little darker and did not appear to have as much of a variety as Goumas Candyland. Nonetheless, the dark chocolate-coffee truffles and English toffee we sampled were delicious! Other fine choices include caramel pretzel rods, buckeyes (for non-Ohioans, these are round chocolates with a creamy peanut butter center) and chocolate-covered mini Oreos. The candies we purchased were slightly less here than next door -- $2 for four pieces vs. $2.45 next door. Boxed assortments are available; a 1/2 pound box of assorted chocolates costs $8.95 and can be ordered online.
