Midwest Living Review
Although it's confusing to see two candy shops, both bearing the name Goumas, sitting side by side on E. Broadway, this tiny shop was the original and, at least from our perspective, has the better selection of attractively displayed merchandise. Housed in a wing of an older home on Granville's main street, it features walls painted a warm terra-cotta, Tiffany-style lamps, honey-brown wood floors and a sun porch inviting customers to sit and sample their purchases. The cozy ambience seems to say, "Buy some chocolate, you deserve it!" So we did! And we happily can say that the sea salt chocolate caramels are melt-in-your-mouth delicious, and the chocolate covered pretzels are crunchy good. Other popular choices are their hand-dipped chocolates, multiflavored jelly beans, chocolate-covered coffee beans and (get this) chocolate-covered potato chips. A coffee pot is available should you want a coffee chaser for your chocolates. Prices vary; our four pieces totaled $2.45. A bag of chocolate-covered coffee beans is $5. Boxed assortments are available; the all-creams set sells for $9.25. Many of the candies can be ordered online.
