Midwest Living Review
Founded in 1831 and designed by the architectural firm of Frederick Law Olmsted, the man behind New York City's Central Park, Denison University is a small, liberal arts and sciences college with an enrollment of approximately 2,100 students. The 900-acre campus anchors the town of Granville, and its students and faculty support many of the town's businesses. The campus features often steep hillsides, and strolling from one picturesque building to another quickly turns into a heart-healthy workout. (The view down into the stadium is especially memorable.) Walking maps are available at kiosks scattered throughout the campus. The university is well-known for its arts programs and attending a recital, play or exhibition by the talented students or faculty offers considerable entertainment for a modest price (tickets for the musical we attended were $8, but many events are free). A full calendar of events can be found on the University's website. Credit cards are not accepted.
