Midwest Living Review
Located just minutes from scenic Buckeye Lake, this KOA is all about convenience, conviviality and fun. Clean, well-maintained accommodations are available to suit all camping styles from primitive tents (from $43) to two-bedroom deluxe cabins with full baths, kitchens, air-conditioning and flat-screen TVs (from $112). RV sites are equipped with concrete patios, outdoor tables, fire rings, grills, free cable and Wi-Fi.
Numerous amenities include an outdoor pool, game room, children's play area, miniature golf, horseshoes, shuffleboard and a dog park. The Kamper's Kitchen, laundry room, gift shop-general store, three bathhouses and picnic areas scattered throughout the grounds lend a homey touch. Organized activities, such as movies, fire truck rides, and wine and cheese tastings, are popular among this camping crowd, as are weekends focusing on chocolate, disco, grandparents and other themes.
Tent sites are in a quiet wooded area at the back of the property, but the fenced-in pool and playground are adjacent to the busy main road and subject to street noise. Down the road, Buckeye Lake offers boating and fishing from the easily accessible marina and boat launch areas, with casual restaurants, pizza places and the new Buckeye Lake Brewery nearby.
