Midwest Living Review
We liked what we saw at Junk Yard Chic as soon as we entered. Our end-of-August 2010 visit gave us a chance to take in a centerstage display that included a black, sticklike "Halloween tree" decorated with cute items appropriate for the fall holiday. As we wandered through the store, we saw what appeared to be handmade clocks for children's bedrooms, plus mirrors and plaques with inspirational sayings on them, pastas shaped for every sport imaginable, cookbooks, note cards and other gift-shop-type items. The owner delights in turning found items into decor (hence the name), but the majority of the goods for sale here are not homemade. Still, if you're looking for a thoughtful birthday gift or knickknack to perk up your decor, you're likely to find something here.
