Fiesta Villa serves Mexican favorites within the old Northern Pacific Railroad Depot.

It might seem bizarre to find a Mexican restaurant inside the historical former Northern Pacific Railroad Depot, but the building's taupe stucco exterior, orange tile roof and Spanish architecture make it a natural fit for Fiesta Villa. Inside, you'll see lots of photos of the depot when it was still used for train service (it was built in 1900 and is on the National Registry of Historic Places), but the festive Mexican decor makes it clear that the focus has moved south of the border.

The menu is a bit more upscale than the average Mexican restaurant, and entrees come with a choice of eight different side dishes, including garlic jalapeño mashed potatoes, Mexi-corn and seasoned black beans. Beyond the traditional tacos, fajitas and chimichangas, the menu features entrees like chipotle pork tenderloin, chicken and avocado adobo, and shrimp burritos. Expect to spend $10 to $20 for meals.

The margaritas are a main attraction, served in about 10 different flavors and heavy on the alcohol. The blended peach and classic lime on-the-rocks versions we sampled were both great.
