Midwest Living Review
Follow your nose in downtown Beatrice, and it will most likely lead you to Scott's Back Alley Eatery. The spicy aroma of Scott's savory barbecue often wafts down the street, and once you've followed its trail to the door, you'll also be tempted by writing in the window: Donna Sue's homemade pies. Both the barbecue and the pies are delicious and reasonably priced.
Tasty sandwiches heaped with barbecued chicken, brisket, pulled pork or smoked ham are $7.89 each and come with one side (we recommend the crispy fries). A thick slice of fruit or cream pie is $3.49; dine-in customers will want to tack on a scoop of ice cream.
Scott’s has recently moved from its original digs to a former VFW building. The patriotic decor is simple and pleasant, featuring rustic wood trim and old photos of Beatrice alongside signs from current Main Street businesses.
