Blatt Beer and Table

Sports fans often frequent Blatt Beer and Table on their way to or from nearby TD Ameritrade Park and the Century Link Center. When the weather is decent and baseball season is in full swing, customers pack the second-level patio to take in views of the stadium and all the action that surrounds it. Back inside, the street-level restaurant is basically a big sports bar with flat-screen TVs, a full-service bar and a menu of upscale pub fare that includes duck fat frites, Bavarian pretzel bits and a wilted red kale salad.

Hungry patrons can choose from a variety of hearty concoctions on a bun, along with some random entrees like chicken and waffles ($10). Everything is prepared fresh, and many dishes highlight surprisingly sophisticated ingredients. For instance, the Angus-beef Blatt Burger ($9) arrives with Parmesan-peppercorn aioli, Guinness-braised onions, lettuce and tomato on a buttered brioche bun. Likewise, the Blattwurst ($8) consists of a jalapeno Polish sausage or a beer-braised brat with caraway kraut and rosemary mustard on a pretzel roll. Food is served on kitschy no-frills tin plates, the prices are right, and service is prompt. What’s not to like?
